Fran Drescher is an American actress, comedian, writer, and activist best known for her unforgettable role as Fran Fine in the hit sitcom The Nanny. With her signature nasal voice, bold fashion, and impeccable comedic timing, Drescher became a 1990s television icon. Beyond her acting success, she’s a savvy writer and producer, co-creating The Nanny, which was inspired by her own life and experiences. Off-screen, Drescher is a passionate advocate for cancer awareness and healthcare reform, having survived uterine cancer herself. She founded the nonprofit Cancer Schmancer, which focuses on early detection and prevention. In 2021, she was elected president of SAG-AFTRA, continuing her dedication to making a difference both in and out of the entertainment industry.
